Sometimes people you don’t even know can make a huge difference in your life. This is one of those times. Bailey Bealefield, an expecting mom from Texas, got the surprise of her life thanks to the generosity of a large group of strangers on Reddit.

Bealefield’s best friend posted on Reddit last week, with her father-in-law’s user name godloki, asking for a favor for her 36-weeks pregnant friend. “My best friend of more than 10 years is pregnant with a baby girl and her baby shower is this weekend,” the friend wrote. “I just found out that no one is planning on coming except for me. I went to her registry on Wal-Mart today and it has 0 items purchased so far.” The most expensive thing on Bealefield’s registry was a $27 baby monitor.

So members of the Reddit community, better known as redditors, started to chip in for the shower. A few days later, Bealefield’s friend and her in-laws had received about 15 gifts to surprise the expecting mom. And after several requests from commenters, Bealefield’s bestie created an Amazon registry, and the gifts started rolling in from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, and the U.K.

“Read this status to my pregnant wife. She is 32 weeks. We went on Amazon at got your friend the swaddle. My wife would love for you to let her know that it’s from one mum to be to another. Lots of love from Australia,” redditor closet_genius commented.

“Fellow pregnant lady here! Sending an outfit from the Amazon list, every momma should have cute clothes for her little one,” user Sparklekitteh commented.

According to a follow-up post this week, after Bealefield opened the few gifts she received, it was time for the second surprise. “We said that, I knew of a wonderful little community online that is all about random acts of kindness…” her friend posted in a follow-up post on Reddit. “We mentioned that a few people donated to her baby shower, and took her outside.”

When they opened the trunk of their car and removed the tarp from the bed of their truck — they used multiple cars to transport all the gifts — Bealefield and her mom were in tears. “With each bag of gifts and box of diapers she would bounce up and down, half smiling, half crying,” the friend wrote. “Her mom was shaking her head in disbelief saying, ‘There are good people out there!’ Bailey said, ‘I’ve never felt so good in my life, my baby is going to be taken care of.’”

“That’s one lucky little family. I wish them all the happiness. Thanks for the update. We are definitely going to want baby pics! Best wishes to Bailey for a safe and healthy delivery. You all rock SO hard,” Veridcal_cupcakes commented on the follow-up post.

Bealefield’s sister and cousin are also pregnant, per the post, and the whole family is grateful for the Reddit community. And more gifts are expected to be delivered over the next few weeks. Bailey’s due date is Aug. 23, and her friend has promised to follow up with more photos when the baby girl, whom Bailey plans to name Braelynn, is born.
